Information We Collect

Location Data

When you upload a record of your walk we pass it through an analysis programme that extracts metadata from your walk. This includes the following information:

Identity
user_idUID of the dog owner the walk is attributed to
co_walker_uidUID of the person who recorded it (only when different from owner)
timezone_offset_hoursPlayer's UTC offset at time of upload
Timing
analyzed_atWhen the walk was processed
created_atSame as above
start_timeFirst GPS waypoint timestamp
end_timeLast GPS waypoint timestamp
duration_secondsTotal walk duration

We also record timezone_offset_hours — your device's UTC offset, reported by your phone at the time of upload — which we use to place each walk in the correct local day for scoring. It is not derived from your coordinates.

We never receive the location of your walk. Before your walk ever leaves your phone, every coordinate is moved to a single fixed point on the map (latitude 0, longitude 0) — so the only thing that travels to Doggo 108 is the shape of your walk, never where it happened. No real latitude or longitude is stored in the Doggo 108 game apps, the Doggo 108 website, or the Doggo 108 game servers (hosted by Google Firebase).

The shape we keep is an anonymised, relocated copy of your track. In the interest of honesty: a very distinctive route silhouette could in theory be matched to a real-world location by someone who already knew the place, so we describe it as anonymised and relocated rather than impossible to locate. The relocated track file is processed and its metadata extracted; we never hold a file containing your real latitude and longitude, because one never reaches us.
